The older of the two dates back to the second half of the 9th century and is dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption, Amalfi’s first patron saint. This structure was built on the ruins of another early Christian cathedral from the 6th century. The second cathedral, dedicated to the Apostle Andrew, was built in 987 at the behest of Mansone I, Duke of Amalfi. We recommend visiting the city center early in the morning or at sunset to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer crowds.

2. Marina Grande
One of the most popular activities for visitors to Amalfi is relaxing on the famous Marina Beach Great. This is the largest beach in Amalfi; it’s fully equipped and very close to the historic center. The beach is fully accessible to people with disabilities thanks to a free service available from June 6 to September 30. This service is available Tuesday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Here you’ll find a beach equipped with nine stations featuring ramps leading into the sea. There are also showers and restrooms, as well as lounge chairs and umbrellas. Since it gets very crowded during the summer, we recommend booking in advance, but be prepared to enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the coast.
3. The Monumental Gardens of Amalfi
A vacation isn’t complete without trying the local specialties. Here, among the dishes you won’t want to miss are definitely scialatielli with seafood, lemon delizia, and artisanal limoncello. Lemons are truly the star attraction of the village. Don’t miss the chance to visit the Amalfi’s Monumental Gardens. This is a tour of the lemon groves at the village’s lookout point—an experience not to be missed: tickets for this tour are often readily available on various platforms, and the cost is around €35 per person.
4. The Valley of the Ironworks
For nature lovers, the Valle delle Ferriere offers a trail surrounded by greenery, featuring waterfalls, rare ferns, and ancient mills. It is an unspoiled, wooded area nestled among high mountains, with numerous springs and waterfalls. The complex is located within the Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve, A true treasure trove of biodiversity in the Mediterranean region. It’s the ideal outing for alternating a few hours of hiking with some relaxation on the beach.
5. A boat tour
Seeing Amalfi from the sea is probably the best way to round out this itinerary in style. Many tours allow you to explore caves, hidden coves, and parts of the Amalfi Coast that are hard to reach by land. Capri in the Summer of 2026
1. The Famous Blue Grotto
It is undoubtedly one of Italy’s most famous attractions. The Blue Grotto is a karst cave located on the northwestern coast of the island. Visitors enter aboard small boats that navigate a narrow passage, offering an incredible natural spectacle thanks to the blue reflections of the water. Unfortunately, you have to be very lucky to see it: since it’s very difficult to get inside due to limited space, tides, or weather conditions, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to visit it. Safety comes first.
2. The Piazzetta in Capri
The famous Piazzetta is the heart of the island. Here you can stop for a coffee, watch the comings and goings of visitors, and soak up the elegant atmosphere that has made Capri famous around the world.
3. The Faraglioni
The Faraglioni are the symbol of the island. They are three rock formations located in the southeast. They have three distinct names: the first, which is connected to the island, is the Faraglione di Terra; the second is the Faraglione di Mezzo; and the third is the Faraglione di Fuori. The latter is the most famous, as it is the only habitat of the famous blue lizard. The best way to see them is to take a boat tour that allows you to pass through the natural arch and swim in the island’s crystal-clear waters.
4. The Gardens of Augustus
The Augustus Gardens offer one of the most spectacular views of the sea and the famous Via Krupp. It is a city park. They were founded by Friedrich Alfred Krupp, a German steel magnate, who purchased several plots of land on the island to build a villa. This is where his marvelous botanical garden originated, later renamed after Augustus following World War I.

5. Anacapri and Mount Solaro
Last but certainly not least is Anacapri. It is the island’s second municipality and also its most populous. In addition to exploring the village, this is where the chairlift departs for Monte Solaro, the island’s highest vantage point.
